Us Filipinos really do love our rice, don’t we? Apart from our unlimited rice obsession, kakanin, derived from kain and kanin, is also considered to be the ultimate Filipino merienda. Who knew that there could be so many ways you could turn rice into an entirely new dish and into desserts, might I add?

Luckily for us, that means that kakanin can be found everywhere. You probably live by a nearby market or street vendor that sells your favorites. But sometimes leaving the house isn’t always an option. So when the kakanin cravings kick in, where can we get our fix? To make satisfying your cravings easier, we put together a list of places where you can order kakanin and have it delivered right to your doorstep.
Decena’s Puto Calasiao is the place where you can get the best and authentic Pangasinan puto calasiao in a variety of flavors. You can also order their puto in bilao packages in an assortment of flavors that are colorfully laid out.

Rocha’s Puto and Kutsinta is one of Marikina’s hidden treasures that’s been around since 1952. They offer delicious and heartwarming boxes of puto and kutsinta that are topped with melt-in-your-mouth cheese that many locals and tourists deliberately flock to just to get a taste of.
A fun new twist to your regular orange-y brown kutsinta, Nanay Aida’s Black Kutsinta is not one to miss. It’s made with molasses to give it that black color and is topped with a dulce de leche sauce or yema spread and toasted coconut flakes also known as niyog—giving regular kutsinta a richer, deeper, and more sinful look and flavor.

Estee’s Native Kakanin specializes in offering Filipino classic delicacies from puto to palitaw. The sticky and chewy flat rice cake with grated coconut, toasted sesame seeds, and sugar is one that’s hard to resist. Surely, a tub of this won’t be enough.
When it comes to pichi-pichi, Arny Dading’s Peachy-Peachy is usually, most if not all, people’s first choice. Since 1983, they have been gracing every Filipino family’s table with their well-loved pichi-pichi which is also available in pinipig or langka flavor.
A visit to Amber is never complete without their famous pichi-pichi. It’s a crowd-favorite when it comes to go-to meriendas and is usually best paired with their original pancit malabon or spaghetti—which are both often found in most Filipino celebrations.
Despite all the hype surrounding Lola Nena’s triple cheese donuts, their famous soft, chewy, melts-in-your-mouth pichi-pichi that’s topped with a lot of cheese or niyog still reigns to this day. You can get them in various sizes from a small box which contains 10 pieces or a large bilao with 100 pieces.
Minatamis is an online-based shop where you can get all your kakanin and ginataan cravings satisfied. From biko to leche flan and other gems like paralosdos, they have it all. Their maja blanca in particular, a sweetened coconut milk custard studded with corn kernels and topped with coconut milk curd comes in a 6×6-inch tub and costs PHP 280.
When you say sapin-sapin, Dolor’s always comes to mind, and rightly so. They were first established in the 1930s and has since then become one of the go-to’s not just for sapin-sapin but for assorted kakanin for many.
Citang’s Eatery Malolos is arguably one of the best merienda places in the City of Malolos. If you ever do find yourself at this foodie landmark, make sure to order their unicorn sapin-sapin.
When you bite into the delectable Inutak from Deliziosa, you’ll be begging for more. It’s the perfect snack or dessert for merienda and is also ideal for handaans or special occasions. It comes in three tray sizes: small for PHP 150, medium for PHP 250, and large for PHP 550.
The bestseller from Kobe’s Magic is without a doubt their inutak. It’s a mouthwatering combination of rich purple yam, gooey and chewy sticky rice cake, and thick coconut cream. It costs PHP 199 for a solo tray and PHP 499 for the party size.
Serving fresh Bibingka by the box for you to enjoy at home, Bibingka Manila adds a gourmet twist to the classic native rice cake delicacy with unique flavors like four cheese, ube halaya and cheese, and salted egg and cheese. Together with Solenn Huesaff, they’ve also come up with a luxurious alternative by topping their mini bibingkas with premium glazed ham and queso de bola.
