All aboard the FooDee train

FooDee Global Concepts, the company that has brought now beloved restaurants to the Philippines such as Tim Ho Wan, Hawker Chan, and the ever-popular llao llao, invited us to the opening of their restaurants in the new Gateway Mall 2.

Called the FooDee Tour, we were taken to each of their restaurants to sample new dishes as well as classic dishes that have been revisited and made better. Read on to know the newest offerings of restaurants like Hawker Chan, Pound, Tim Ho Wan, and even llao llao!

First Stop

Tim Ho Wan

First opened in 2015, Tim Ho Wan remains one of the cheapest Michelin-starred experiences in the Philippines and has now opened their 9th restaurant.

The shrimp dumplings have always been a treat as well as the Chef’s Special fried rice with pork chop, which has now found itself permanently on the menu. Of course we cannot forget about pork dumpling with shrimp as well as the steamed spinach dumpling.

Aside from the dimsum, Tim Ho Wan is equally known for its pork buns with sweet and savory sauce and soft buns. Tim Ho Wan even offers its first pork buns for only 9 pesos for its first 100 customers from September 25-27, 2023!

Second Stop

Hawker Chan

Another Michelin-starred restaurant, Hawker Chan has the distinction of being the first hawker stall to win the prestigious award.

The FooDee tour introduced us to classic dishes like the chicken roast and char siu whose marinade has been perfected and garnered praise for all over the world.

Hawker Chan also unveiled its new menu items like the Laksa that’s perfect for the cold weather, a new fried tofu dish with apple sauce, and pad Thai.

Third Stop

Pound x Flatterie

Finally for the last heavy meal of this gastronomic tour is Pound x Flatterie which first opened in the Philippines in 2016. Known for its burgers, sliders, and poutine, Pound slowly expanded throughout Metro Manila garnering a consistent customer base.

Today, Pound x Flatterie leans more into chicken wings and has turned into a gastropub that serves more menu items while still retaining its quality.

Final Stop

llao llao

After consuming copious amounts of hot sauce from Pound our mouths were burning. Luckily for us llao llao was right next to Pound with their soothing and flavorful yogurt.

llao llao had a variety of toppings and fruit slices to choose from like the Biscoff crumble, the pistachio sauce, and the mango and kiwi slices!

All in all, whether you’re going to Gateway Mall 2 to see the newest mall in the Metro or just passing by on the way to the MRT or LRT, FooDee group has a lot of options to satisfy any craving.
