Wagyu gumastos ng mahal.
If you haven’t heard already, WagyuMafia is coming to Metro Manila soon and it’s getting a ton of buzz because of one thing: their world-famous wagyu cutlet sandwich. The famed gyu-katsu sando is made with the finest wagyu beef, lightly breaded and fried in panko, and placed between crustless, pillowy white bread with a soy-vinegar sauce.
The downside? It costs ¥20,000 or approximately ₱9,700. And when you’re on a small salary or a tight budget, spending almost ₱10,000 bucks on a sublime sandwich can be out of bounds (even though you really want to try it). That’s why we’ve found a cheaper alternative in Metro Manila that’ll still serve you tender, melt-in-your-mouth katsu sando goodness.
Found in BGC, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse PH is known for their premium steaks as well as their katsu steak sandwich. Their Japanese-inspired Katsu Steak Sandwich is made with USDA Prime filet mignon cutlet and served with potato chips and tonkatsu sauce. And it only costs ₱1,288 compared to the whopping ₱9,700 at Wagyumafia.
So, if you’re craving Wagyumafia’s pricy katsu sandwich, but don’t have the funds for it, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse might be another option to explore. For more information on Wolfgang Steakhouse, check out their Facebook page.
