After moving to the Philippines in 2012, Trang felt that something was missing and that’s when she started Vina Trang. “It’s like it’s my destiny,” she said. The restaurant is small and Trang plans to keep it that way saying, “I don’t want to commercialize like bigger restaurants because I want to focus on quality.”

Insider tip: Trang recommends you try the Phở đặc biệt (house special with a little bit of everything) and the Banh Mi Thuyen Thong which is made with traditional patties.

Traditional banh mis are made with one or more meats, stewed and fresh vegetables, herbs and condiments. Vina Trang’s Banh Mi Thuyen Thong is made with grilled pork patties and have a kick of chili that you can ask them to omit if you’re not too keen on a spicy.
