Tokyo Bubble Tea is more than just bubble teas.
Tokyo Bubble Tea
Tokyo Bubble Tea is a local homegrown bubble tea concept founded by McWilson Group of restaurants in 2007. It is one of the pioneers in introducing the Asian phenomenon that is the milk tea.
Taking from its name, one would instantly know what Tokyo Bubble Tea specializes in, but that’s not all there is to them. And they want all of us to know that, which is why they are re-introducing themselves from just a “milk tea place’ to a full-blown Japanese and Western restaurant through their NEW MENU, starting with their newly-renovated Tomas Morato branch.
The new design is modern Japanese but still tries to incorporate traditional elements through the zashiki-style seats in one corner, the clean white walls and overall minimalist theme. Its character is charming and an instant invitation to families and groups of friends who are looking for the perfect venue to bond over good food and drinks.
Speaking of good food and drinks, the Booky team was invited to try some of their new dishes.
Tokyo Tower
A towering fusion of flavors and textures consisting of crunchy spicy tuna, ripe mango, kani crab crunch, spicy fruity salmon served on a bed of mixed seasonal grains in balsamic vinegar reduction.
Teriyaki Chicken Doria
Oven-baked mozarella rice casserole topped with delicious teriyaki chicken in wasabi mushroom cream sauce. But that’s not the best part, it’s the torched and smoky flavor that balances all the other flavors.
Chashubimbop
Mouthwatering slices of stewed pork served with mushrooms, mixed veggies and soft-boiled egg on (very) hot stone bowl rice. We mean it when we say very, so be careful not to touch them.
Salmon with Blackened Maguro Rice
Delightful seared salmon fillet served on a black tuna yakimeshi rice hot stone bowl. Again, it’s very hot.
Double Chocolate Milk Shake & Super Fruit-C
The Double Chocolate milkshake is thick and filling, and came with small bubbles/pearls. The Super Fruit-C is refreshing and came with their signature and new bubu jelly. You can’t see it in the photo but it’s a wholly unique topping which we can only best describe as a cross between an aloe vera and coconut jelly.
WE RECOMMEND the Teriyaki Chicken Doria (for taste) and Tokyo Tower (for carbo loading). We loved the Fruit-C but feel free to try their other drinks, just don’t forget to add the bubu jelly.
