You’re gonna lava it!
Mom and dad always said not to play with your food but they never said anything about desserts. Manila’s new kid on the DIY food scene is one you never saw coming.
When the Japanese touched cheesecake or soft-serve, they managed to further perfect already perfect desserts. And you can bet that that’s exactly what will happen with Tokeru’s lava cakes. This Japanese dessert concept, that just opened at SM Megamall, specializes in customizable lava cakes. That’s right, lava cakes.

Unfortunately, they aren’t DIY in the sense that you bake and top your lava cake off yourself but you do get to choose each component and that’s as sweet as it gets. Read on for how it works.
Step 1: Choose your cake and filling
They have Dark Chocolate, Green Tea, Coffee, Peanut Butter, and Red Velvet. Honestly, from the first step alone you’re going to have a hard time because how do you choose just one? Hint: don’t choose and get them all.
Step 2: Pair it with some ice cream
Hot and cold desserts are the best. You can chill out with the ice cream and when it melts, it turns into a creamy sauce to slurp up all the crumbs at the end. You can choose from chocolate, green tea, or vanilla ice cream. If that’s not your speed, you can opt for a whipped cream topping.

Step 3: Top it off
We can all agree that toppings make everything better. You know it, I know it, and Tokeru definitely knows it. Take the lot and choose from crunch, fruit and sauce toppings.
