And the 10 new international franchises that won the hearts of foodies this 2015 are…

After seeing Our Awesome Planet’s 2015 Round up of 10 Most Awesome New Homegrown Restaurants and 10 Most Awesome New Franchised Restaurants, we were curious and excited to see how our data will compare to Anton’s list.

Our list is ranked based on the number of times a restaurant is added to a user’s “Favorites” list on the Booky app, we’ve summed them all up from January to mid-December and here are the results.

10. Coco Ichibanya – Estancia Mall

CoCo Ichibanya Curry House, Japan’s #1 curry house, was brought to Manila by the UCC Group. Guests can customize their plates from the amount of rice, spiciness of the curry, to the toppings and sides.

9. Mr. Pizza – Greenbelt 3

Mr. Pizza is Korean’s #1 pizza chain serving gourmet hand-made and grill-baked pizzas with full-hearted toppings.They also have non-pizza offerings like seafood & kimchi Spaghetti and chicken wings. Their women-targeted marketing is one of their key success factors.

8. Honey Creme – SM Aura

Honey Creme from Taiwan serves Korean-style organic soft serve ice cream with whimsical and gourmet toppings, sauces and other sweet treats. It currently has 8 variants for you to choose from to be served in a cup or on a cone but the most popular are the honeycomb and caramel popcorn; more special flavors will be launching soon. 7. Maisen – Greenbelt 5

Maisen, which means ‘go for it’, is one of Japan‘s finest tonkatsu restaurants brought to Manila by Suyen Corporation a.k.a. Bench group. It offers various tonkatsu sets, including its bestselling Kurobuta Tenderloin Katsu served with their signature sweet and spicy Kurobuta sauce.

6. Applebee’s Grill & Bar – The Fort

Applebee’s is a casual diner and bar franchised from the US serving big-plated American favorites including ribs, burgers, steaks, beers and more. The Quesadilla Burger, Sriracha Shrimp and Four Cheese Mac & Cheese are some of their signature dishes.

5. Milkcow – Eastwood

Milkcow is a dessert cafe serving ‘the best soft serve ice cream’. This popular Korean brand only opened late 2013 but have grown so much following because of their organic ice creams and honeycomb.

4. Cafe Seolhwa Bingsu – The Fort

Cafe Seolhwa Bingsu is an authentic Korean dessert cafe serving snowflake Korean patbingsu or snowflake-shaved ice made of milk. This is its 2nd branch in the metro.

3. Laduree – Rockwell

Ladurée is a French luxury patisserie founded in 1862 by one Louis-Ernest Ladurée. It is internationally known as one of the premier sellers of the double-decker macarons. Ladurée Rockwell is the brand’s flagship takeaway boutique in the Philippines. Aside from macarons that are flown in from their central bakery in Switzerland, they also offer teas, chocolates and ice cream, among others.

2. The Halal Guys – Mega Fashion Hall

The Halal Guys is a halal gyro food cart based in New York City, founded in 1990. Their bright red and yellow umbrellas and flags quickly caught the attention of New Yorkers and tourists alike and soon long queues became its norm. 2nd branch just opened at Bonifacio High Street.
