We foodies can help in our little ways.

As of Wednesday afternoon, July 24, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)—the Philippines’ weather bureau—announced that Carina had intensified into a super typhoon. On the same day, the national government placed Metro Manila under a state of calamity.

Since then, numerous individuals and organizations have launched initiatives to help those stranded outside their homes and those in evacuation centers due to the severe weather. Restaurants have also stepped up to offer warmth and support during this challenging time.

Here’s a list of restaurants that have started relief operations in response to Super Typhoon Carina.

Urban Chick

Urban Chick, a homey restaurant serving crispy and delicious fried chicken along the iconic street of Maginhawa in Quezon City, is calling on its patrons and followers to sponsor a bowl of lugaw (rice porridge) for P25. The bowls of lugaw will be delivered to typhoon-stricken residents in evacuation centers in QC.

They also actively update the public on the proceeds of the donation drive.
