QC folks, it’s time to meet your meat.
Sear Steak Scullery
Sear Steak Scullery is a homegrown steak restaurant brought to us by the Red Baron Group (Red Baron Ribs & Steaks). The company discovered, through trial and error, that some steaks are best cooked by searing instead of the conventional grilling.
The ambiance of the restaurant is reminiscent of a saloon in the old wild west. For the 90s kids, it will probably remind them of the old family steakhouses from their childhood. With horseshoes and wagon wheels hung on walls, the place gives homage to its western roots: cowboys and steaks.
Insider tip: There's a toy train track inside the restaurant, you can ask the owner to turn it on on your next visit.
Currently, it is the only steak place in the neighborhood that offers a full service semi-fine dining experience. Their wide selection of steaks range from USDA-certified meats to fine cuts of the revered HIDA Wagyu steak from Japan.
Sear takes pride in the, you guessed it, searing of its meats. The process is said to lock in all the juices to maintain the tenderness and flavor of the steak.
Insider tip: Customers can choose to have the steak with either mashed potato or rice. It is also served with veggies, bread, the soup of the day, and ice cream. Dine in customers get unlimited servings of bread and soup.
For those looking for a Filipino flavor, try the Iberico Pork in kare-kare sauce.
Apart from classic and stone-grilled steaks, the restaurant also serves pasta dishes like Wild Mushroom Carbonara (made with 4 kinds of exotic mushrooms), Peperoni Tomato Pasta (tossed with smoky peperoni), and Aglio Olio (made with the wholesome goodness of piqual extra virgin olive extracts). Their specialty is the Seafood Lasagna Negra–scallops, shrimps, and halibut mixed with squid ink and coconut milk.
For starters, family and friends can share the Cheese Fondue, which is a blend of apenzeler, cheddar, and aged gruyere, with a little amaretto.
Other appetizers include the Oyster Rockefeller. The oysters are oven-baked and has a hint of oregano spice.
Ready for dessert? Sear has their own blend of soft serve ice cream to help you out with your sweet tooth cravings.
Sear also serves a variety of crazy milkshakes: the Dark Chocolate Milkshake is made with 90% cacao—a treat for chocolate lovers, the Sear’s Huckleberry, made with fresh berries, and their Ube Milkshake is made with Good Shepherd’s famous purple yam from Baguio.
