Pug-et about your worries
There seems to be a steady traffic of third wave coffee shops popping up in Metro Manila; that’s not even counting the influx of multi-national coffee chains like Costa, Tully’s, and Tim Horton’s, which have recently joined the ranks of already prevalent Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Suffice it to say Filipinos are well-caffeinated.
Perhaps this obsession with coffee is one of the very reasons why life seems to move at a breakneck pace. Perry’s Tea Bar and Bakehouse in Taguig is a place that offers you a chance to hit “pause” and take a breather from the stress of daily life.

Inspired by coffee’s third wave, Perry’s aims to be the Pioneer of the Tea Movement in the Philippines. What sets Perry’s apart from other tea shops in the Metro is a well-curated tea selection and a unique adaptation of an ancient Chinese method of brewing which demands effort and dedication.
Good tea takes time. The Gong Fu Bar at Perry’s serves as a stage for customers to witness how tea is properly prepared by a tea sommelier.
Fun Fact: “Gong Fu” literally means the art of doing something well.
Steering clear of any rustic and industrial interiors which we now associate with coffee shops, the owners of Perry’s decided to go the opposite route, instead opting for the luxe and sophisticated feel of polished marble with gold and brass accents.
If you’re wondering about the restaurant’s name, it’s actually an homage to the family pet! During one of their trips to the U.S., the owners adopted a rescue dog in Rhode Island. They took the pug, named Perry, and drove with him from Rhode Island all the way to Los Angeles. The well-traveled and well-loved pug was the inspiration behind the restaurant’s international menu.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Hatch, who graduated from the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in 2003 under famed Chef Gene Gonzales. He went on to work at the New World Hotel until 2005, when he decided to start his own private catering service, Chefs for Hire.
Fun Fact: Before opening Perry's, Chef Hatch also headed the kitchen in Refinery.
While the chef’s personal favorites on the menu include the Chicken Skin, Crackling Pork Belly, and Mac & Cheese, we think these best-selling dishes are worth a try!
Potato Purée

Don’t forget Perry’s is also a bakeshop! All of their pastries and sandwiches are sure to please your tastebuds.

At Perry’s, it’s not uncommon for customers to go from detox to retox. If you’re not in the mood for tea, they have a Rosé Bar with a nice selection of rosé. In fact, an entire wall is dedicated to the light pink wine, with a bright neon sign hovering above their extensive and growing collection of bottles.
Happy Hour at Perry’s is never boring, to say the least. You can enjoy unlimited wine for ₱499, unlimited sangria at ₱475, rosé at ₱550, and for just ₱600 you can have access to their Gin Cart, which is well stocked with all sorts of botanicals.
When you book a table at Perry’s with Booky, not only will you enjoy ₱500 off your bill, you will also get a free dessert on us. The catch? You have to answer our quick feedback form first! Show it to the staff at the end of your meal and enjoy your sweet treat.
