We want them all here in Manila!

We’ve always admired The Big Apple for its creative and outrageous eats from burgers, ribs, pizza and of course, desserts. There’s no shortage of desserts; from cronuts, to churro bowls, liquefied candies, soft-served ice cream and even one of the most expensive desserts in the world, New York City has it all.

Emack & Bolio’s and Magnolia Bakery have already found their way to our shores so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that these mind-blowing dessert shops make it here too! Brace yourselves and let the sweet cravings begin.

Ice & Vice

Dubbed as one of the most experimental ice cream shops in New York, Ice & Vice is anything but safe when it comes to concocting interesting and creative flavors and awesome ways of preparing their desserts with booze. One of their best-sellers which is Basic B (Mexican vanilla with black lava sea salt) is best eaten in their salted blue corn honey cone, topped with malted vanilla in between the Mexican chocolate brownies and coated with fruity pebble dust.

Serendipity 3

Home of the infamous Golden Opulence Sundae that was listed in 2007 by the Guinness World Records as the most expensive sundae in the world–try $1,000! This dessert is made up of Tahitian Vanilla ice cream, rare Venezuelan Chuao chocolate, chocolate truffles, marzipan cherries, candied fruits and topped with the world’s most expensive chocolate syrup made from Amedei Porcelana and gold covered almonds. It’s also covered with edible 23-karat gold leaf and grand passion caviar. They also have a variety of other sundaes to choose from (that aren’t as expensive) such as the Forbidden Broadway Sundae and the “Can’t Say No” Sundae.

Taiyaki

Taiyaki NYC gets its name from the iconic fish-shaped Japanese waffle. Unlike the mass-produced versions you can buy in Asian convenience stores, theirs is made fresh daily; making it chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. The textures and flavors work perfectly with their artisan soft serve ice cream available in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, matcha, and black sesame.

Big Gay Ice Cream

What started as an ice cream truck in 2009 is now one of the iconic dessert shops of New York and was also ranked #5 best ice cream parlor in the world by USA today in 2013. It’s not just about what they do with the ice cream and how they present it, it’s the pure ice cream itself that deserves all that spotlight. We’d love to try the Big Gay Classic and Rocky Road!
