Get ready for THE dining experience of a lifetime.

screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-4-09-19-am

In partnership with Resources for the Blind, Inc., Noche: Dine in the Dark, aims to offer an unforgettable dining experience to Manila. It will be the first and only restaurant in the Philippines that will have its patrons dine in total darkness. Yes, you will be dining in a pitch dark room, served by visually-impaired staff.

Dining in the dark is not a new concept, it's been around since 1999, pioneered by Blindekuh from Zürich, Switzerland.

Sight is said to be the strongest among five senses. Once it is taken away, other senses go into overdrive. Coupled with an exciting two, three and five course Mystery Menu that will take you on a unique gastronomic journey, Noche opens the curtains to a new, sensational world.

Insider tip: Inform the Noche team of any dietary requirements, preference or allergies upon booking. Noche has also pre-selected wine for each course for additional payment.

Noche’s soft opening prices will be:

Two-course – P699 (instead of P999)
Three-course – P999 (instead of P1,499)
Five-course – P1,499 (instead of P1,999)

NOTE: Rates will be back to its normal prices after October.

Here’s what to expect:

The Experience

Step 1: WELCOME

The dine in the dark experience starts with a warm welcome by the Noche team. Guests are presented with welcome drinks while they pick their course from the Mystery Menu. A wide selection of drinks is also available.

Step 2: ORIENTATION (NO PHONES ALLOWED!)

Guests will be given a full orientation on the whole concept and dining process. Aprons and optional gloves will be provided. Phones, watches and anything that could possibly emit light will be taken and put in secured lockers.

Going to the restroom before dining is highly recommended, as leaving the area mid-meal might dilute the experience for you.

Step 3: ENTERING A NEW WORLD

The group will be introduced to a “darkness expert”, who will instruct all guests to form a train to enter the dark room. Once you reach your table, the staff will explain in detail how to eat in the dark.

Step 4: DINING IN THE DARK

Guests are not blindfolded. Have fun and do your best to guess each dish presented! Call your guide by their first name and they will attend to you promptly.

Step 5: POST DINING EXPERIENCE

After completing the last course,  guests will be escorted out of the dining area. The eyes will be adjusting to the lights for a few moments; this is absolutely normal. A small questionnaire will be given, as well as a descriptive menu revealing the dishes that were served. Additional beverages, including surprise cocktails, will also be available at this time.

Before you leave, remember to collect your belongings from your locker.

Are you excited? What’s even more exciting is that you are dining for a cause. Noche employs visually-impaired waitstaff in the dark room. Call on your friends and family to join the fun, support the cause and share this one of a kind experience with you. Special prices for group bookings (10 people and up) are available.

Note: Please email date of event, time and number of pax to dineinthedarkmanila@gmail.com with SUBJECT: EVENT BOOKING.
