Kafe Batwan by Sarsa – Rockwell

Kafe Batwan is the newest addition to the Sarsa group of restaurants. Being the avid travelers and cafe seekers that Chef JP Anglo and sister/co-founder Tracie Anglo-Dizon are, together they created a contemporary Filipino kafe with a strong local identity. Here’s a fun fact: Batwan is a fruit native to the Visayas and was used in the name as an homage to the owners’ Negrense roots.

Alab by Chef Tatung – Sct. Rallos

Through its authentic home cooked Filipino dishes, Chef Tatung has grown from a private dining restaurant in Myke “Tatung” Sarthou’s  Quezon City home to a bigger and resort-like space inside Acacia Estates in Taguig, and now to its newest home in Tomas Morato under a new name Alab. Alab’, which is Tagalog for flame, serves the same ‘burning with passion’ Filipino dishes that Chef Tatung’s followers have loved for years but more youthful and forward thinking. (P.S. The New York Cubao Cheesecake and Pichi Pichi desserts are must try’s)
