More good (food) news to end 2016!
Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque
This rising barbeque joint was founded in 2012 in New York. It started as a humble food stall at the famous Smorgasburg food market in Brooklyn and now has a total of 9 branches–7 in New York, 1 in New Jersey, and 1 in Taiwan).
Thanks to the same group that brought us Yabu and Ippudo, Mighty Quinn’s is set to open their second international branch in Manila!
According to their website, Mighty Quinn’s barbeque is “familiar and still unlike any barbeque you have ever had.”
Their cooking style pays homage to many pit masters and adds their own personal touch to each dish. The key to their simple menu is that they source the best quality ingredients without tampering with its natural characteristics. They slow smoke their barbeque with minimal seasoning thus giving every bite that juicy, all natural flavor.
Fun fact: Mighty Quinn's promotes sustainable living that's why their wooden tables, bars and wall surfaces are constructed from reclaimed wood sourced from various renovation or salvage projects around New York City. They also reuse a significant portion of the preexisting interior structures of the restaurants that they build.
Owner and Pit Master Hugh Mangum is a native of Houston, Texas. His New York style of barbeque represents many regions in the US, giving it an edge over traditional barbeque joints. Their NYC restaurants are always packed, with sprawling lines along the famous streets of the famous city. The restaurant is managed by Magnum and two other partners.
Insider tip: Most of the items on their menu is 99% nut free. There are dairy-free and gluten-free options as well.
Mighty Quinn’s bestsellers include their Burnt Ends Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, and the enormous Brontosaurus Rib. You can choose to have your order sandwich style or bun-less with sides (Burnt End Baked Beans, their freshly cut Pomme Frites, Dirty Frites, and their vegetarian friendly salads).
Here are a few snaps of their mouthwatering dishes.
Don’t forget to add a generous amount of their house made barbeque sauce!
Pair your juicy barbeque dishes with a cold beer or some of their craft beers and special cane sugar drinks by Boylan Bottling Co.
As for dessert, they serve seasonal flavors of bread pudding. This month’s special flavor is s’mores.
