Far from the busy streets of Taipei City, Mazendo first opened near the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2010. It is a bustling young brand serving traditional Taiwanese cuisines with a modern flair. It specializes in Taiwanese beef noodles, fried rice, and dumplings.
Fun fact: The logo of Mazendo is a Chinese character “虎” which means “tiger”.
Mazendo offers a menu featuring Taiwanese comfort food favorites but it’s really their Taiwanese beef noodles and dumplings that people keep coming back for.
Check out some of their most popular items below!
Noodles
Noodle is the spirit of the beef noodle. Mazendo makes fresh noodles everyday and uses thin noodles that can better absorb their spicy soup. This gives the dish more texture and flavor.
For the meat, they only use Thomas meat – carefully selected high-quality meat that are authenticated by ISO22000/HACCP for the past five years.
Mazendo’s signature bowls come in various combinations of the following:
Noodles: Taiwan noodles, Vermicelli
Meat: Beef, Pork, Mutton
Soup: Mala, Consommé, Bouillon
Insider tip: Set courses are also available on their menu.

Dumplings
A classic accompaniment to their noodles, dumpling options include steamed, boiled and pan-fried.

Fried Rice
Mazendo’s rice menu can serve as a side dish to their noodles or dumplings or stand as its own meal, they serve dishes such as Beef Stew rice, Mapo Tofu with rice, Hainanese Chicken Rice, and Fried Rice with Egg and Shrimp.
For more adventurous foodies, you should also try this classic Taiwanese specialty, the Stinky Tofu.
Stinky Tofu
As its name suggests, the stinky tofu or simply fermented bean curd, has a distinct smell. People compare it to our durian–the stinkier, the better.
