Love Monday Cafe – Kapitolyo
Love Monday Cafe is a newly opened brunch place in Kapitolyo. It’s a one-woman passion project by Daene Luna.
According to her, the inspiration to venture into this business came from her travels abroad. She used to work in corporate jobs, and like many, dreaded Mondays, and so she decided to combine her passion for travel and food and put up her own restaurant.
The concept of this cafe was derived from three main points of inspiration: the hole-in-the-wall cafes in Seoul, Saigon’s cafe culture, and Melbourne’s brunch places.
This cafe actually used to be a place where they sold rice, but the floor tiles remain the same. She wanted to incorporate a mix of modern and classic elements for Love Monday Cafe’s interiors.
As for its name, she wanted a reason to make her Monday mornings exciting, and so she named it Love Monday Cafe. It’s a place for raw creativity and endless imagination, perfect when you want to get inspired or if you simply want to hang out with your friends over good food and drinks. They do hold workshops here such as flower making, creative writing, storybook writing, and soon, slam poetry!
The cafe is open as early as 7:00 am in the morning from Monday to Saturday.
