One step into this quaint restaurant and you’ll feel like you’re in the coastal towns of northern Italy, which is exactly where La Spezia is.
La Spezia first opened less than a year ago and this is their third menu overhaul. It isn’t that their previous menus weren’t a hit; co-owners Sean Yuquimpo and Aaron Shiu want to give patrons a taste of everything Italy has to offer, including some lesser known dishes.
This time around, La Spezia is making use of the vegetables and ingredients that come with the summer sun.

Fun Fact: La Spezia imports 18 month old Parmigiano-Reggiano and smoke their bell peppers in house.

You’ll find the freshest produce and top notch ingredients at La Spezia. When they were testing out the menu, the team tried some of the dishes cold but eating them hot made a huge difference in quality. “We serve dishes that Italians should expect to eat.”

“Sinisira namin yung palate ng Pilipino (We’re breaking the Filipino palate). They love big flavors all at once but that makes you get tired of what you’re eating and ruins the dish. We want our food to be subtle and ease you into each layer of flavor,” says co-owner Sean Yuquimpo.

They’re trying some bold things as the majority of what you’ll find at La Spezia is new but they kept some oldies but goodies like the Pancetta Di Maiale, Fagioli Bianchi (sous vide pork belly), Pasta C’ Anciova E Muddica (anchovy pasta), and crowd favorite Camicia Pear, Gelato.
