Follow the fox to Inari Sukiyaki!
There are very few Japanese restaurants that specifically make sukiyaki their specialty dish. Inari Sukiyaki is trailblazing in the sense that they are the first sukiyaki bar in Metro Manila.

Read on to learn more about Inari Sukiyaki from their dishes to their space, and everything in between!
The First Sukiyaki Bar in Metro Manila
Inari Sukiyaki is less of a full-scale restaurant and more of a hybrid of the former and a stall in the Public Eatery. Going up the escalators to the Public Eatery, the aroma from the open-air kitchen is immediately inviting.
The restaurant has a bar setting where diners face the open kitchen and can see the chefs do their thing. Keep in mind that seats are very limited and is one of the few restaurants in the Metro perfect for dining alone. However, it is still great for eating out with one or two friends.
Choose Between 3 Types of Beef
Inari Sukiyaki offers only three types of beef for their sukiyaki bowl set, the Karubi (P395), Misuji (P495), and the Ribeye (P945). The Karubi has a medium strip of fat with a sweet and rich flavor while the Misuji has better marbling and a rich umami taste.
The Ribeye is their premium cut that is extremely tender. This is taken from a 270-day grain-fed marbling score from a 100% Black Angus.
All sukiyaki sets have the option of doubling the meat and adding in-house iced tea. Doubling the meat and getting a bowl of extra rice on the side can be a great way to share with a friend or feed that big appetite.
Underrated Sushi Rolls
While caught up on the premium cuts of beef don’t forget to try Inari Sukiyaki’s sushi rolls. Again the restaurant only has three sushi rolls to choose from but all are delicious in their own way. Both the Kani Nori Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll have hints of tempura flakes that add to the texture.
The Sizzling Inari Aburi Rolls have a bit of a kick because of its use of togarashi spice but is neutralized quite well by the cream cheese and sizzling ebiko mayo.
Inari Sukiyaki should be your go-to destination for solo dining or a taste of authentic Japanese sukiyaki that caters to Filipino tastes. Head on over to their first (hopefully not only) branch in the Public Eatery in Robinsons Magnolia.
Just follow the fox (or the smell); there’s no way you’ll miss it!
