This watering hole headed by Chef Tom Hines in the middle of a busy district in Makati offers ornate libations to its post-work crowd. Decorated with lush velvet seats by the bar and dark corners at the back make for a relaxing atmosphere after six.
There is always something comforting about beautifully handcrafted drinks, especially when taken after a grueling work day. Hooch Cocktail Bar offers a unique cocktail experience that will take the work blues away with its through and flawless execution on classic, as well as Hooch signature short and long drinks.
Take for example the classic Dark & Stormy, beautiful and carefully concocted with dark rum, ginger, lime, sugar, bitters, and ginger beer.
Or the Smash, which is one of Hooch’s bestsellers. It’s a mix of vodka, mixed red berries, lime, cucumber, and basil.

Apart from classics, Hooch has also crafts their own signature libations.
The Cinnamon Jack is not one to miss, which is a sweet and femme take on the classic Jack Coke. The Candyman is also quite an experience. The drink served in a shaker is made with vodka, martini, and mixed berries. It comes with a cocktail glass topped with a cloud of bubblegum pink cotton candy. You are instructed to pour the drink yourself into the glass until the cotton candy melts into the drink. The Choc-nutter, though, has been creating some buzz these days for its unique spin of the well-loved local chocolate mixed with Scotch whiskey, amaretto, vanilla, and a whole egg.
While the drinks are the main attraction, Hooch’s kitchen does not fail to impress its customers with its gourmet offerings. You can start of with the Kickass Kinilaw which consists of tanigue, salmon, and tuna. The mango, caviar, and Visayan pinakurat add so much flavor to the seafood.
Their Organic Pork Belly Bagnet, a 36-hour sous vide belly of pork topped with pickled onion and lulu pickles, and drizzled with spiced vinegar, is best paired with their beer cocktails.
The Shrimp Po Boi is a signature dish from Catch seafood restaurant (located right beside Hooch), it’s got the delicious New Orleans kick–think spicy and tangy! So yes, you can order from Catch menu.
Another favorite is their Hot Wings. It comes in 6 or 12 pieces, glazed with Sriracha BBQ sauce with lemon salt on the side. If you’re not into spicy food, you can go for the Asian Wings, too. It’s drizzled with ginger soy, hoisin, chili, coriander, and some sesame seeds.
Insider tip: Be ready to get your hands dirty, Hooch provides a bowl of lemon-infused water for washing.
Try also the Catch Pasta, another item from Catch menu, and pair it with a glass of white wine. It’s a simple yet delicious spaghetti dish with olive oil, roasted garlic, prawns, lemon, and chili.
