You need to try their bacon slab! *Restaurant is permanently closed*
This is the ultimate destination in Maginhawa for all the meat-lovers everywhere.
Gastronomeats was established in 2013 by a group of three friends who are self-confessed foodies, who have always dreamt of having their own business. They started out as a small sausage food cart selling smoked homemade sausages. They eventually experimented with other meats and later on decided to put their first meat-centric restaurant.
Their first branch opened in Los Baños, Laguna and was loved by locals and students. In 2015, they opened up a branch in Maginhawa and it became an instant hit for diners looking for authentic meat at reasonable prices.
There’s a freedom wall filled with testimonials written in post-it notes, placed by their loyal customers.
Here are some of the bestselling dishes:
Buffalo Wings
Fried chicken wings tossed in sweet and spicy buffalo sauce
Insider tip: Every Tuesday, they have unlimited chicken wings for only Php 250. Add P49 for unlimited rice and lemon iced tea!
Slabbed
Thick-cut smoked bacon slab with garlic rice and two eggs
Busy as a Bee
Pork belly with honey mustard barbecue sauce served with rice
Kermit’s Burger
The Gastro Burger (over a quarter of 100% pure beef patty with caramelized onions, ketchup, mustard and relish) served with 100g bacon strips then topped with cheesy bacon sauce
Sausage Fest
Pick three from Meatology’s homemade sausages: chipolata, chorizo, frankfurter, Hungarian, Italian, pork bratwurst, Schüblig, veal bratwurst.
They also have other meat platters such as the Birdie Platter – a big serving of assorted wings (Gangnam Chicken, Confused Buffalo, and General’s Chicken) and Pork Manila – choice of two kinds of pork belly (Oompa Liempo, Hickory Pig-ory, Spicy Liempo, Busy as a Bee, and Fe’s Porky) and one piece of slab. Every platter comes with potato fries.
Wash down with their popular blue lemonade, lemon iced tea, and taro drinks.
Gastronomeats is a casual American fusion diner that offers specialty assorted meat dishes and platters, all smoked and cured in house. It’s for groups of friends and families looking for an affordable dining spot in the Maginhawa area.
Booky Tip: We heard that since one of the owners is Japanese, they will be serving a special ramen for the meat lovers soon!
