Here’s everything you need to know.
Fatburger Philippines
Fatburger traces its roots back in 1947 when it first started as a humble three-stool burger stand mostly made out of scrap materials along West Ave, California. Due to high demand for their burgers, Yancey opened another Fatburger on La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills in 1973, where it was an instant hit among locals and tinsel town icons back in the day.
Founder Lovie Yancey says that Fatburger’s name was inspired from “the idea of a big burger with everything on it…a meal in itself.”
In 1990, Lovie sold the Fatburger franchise to Magic Johnson’s investment company, which paved the way for the brand to expand to over 200 Fatburger restaurants spread across 19 countries. Trivia: Pharell Williams, Kanye West, and Queen Latifah are some of Fatburger’s famous franchisees.
This year, the Manila food scene will yet again be rattled by another big burger player. Fatburger is all about lean Angus beef burgers, hand-scooped ice cream milkshakes, handmade onion rings and fries, and their build-your-own burger experience.
Fact: Fatburger burgers are big and free from trans-fat! All their burgers are prepared fresh, so no heat lamps nor microwaves and frozen meat here.
Fatburger’s signature burgers come in 5 sizes, small to XXXL. Aside from beef burgers, chicken and turkey burger options available; they even have a Skinny Burger on the menu, which features a no-carb approach to its all-meat bun. Side dishes include onion rings, Fat fries, skinny fries, and chili cheese fries. You can also choose additional toppings like eggs, chili, and even gluten-free buns!
Off-menu item alert: The Hypocrite Burger, a veggie patty burger with two strips of bacon on top.
But what really sets Fatburger apart is its famous Triple King XXXL Burger and it guarantees to satisfy your carnivorous cravings with its three half-pound (24 oz.) AAA Angus beef patties, 4 slices of cheese (your choice of American, Swiss, Canadian Cheddar or Pepperjack), topped with hand-cut lettuce, beef steak tomato, red onion, mustard, and relish placed between artisan seeded buns. If you’re hard core enough to finish it, you’ll earn your spot on the #XXXChallenge Wall of Fame.
