Manila has been ready since last year. Save the date: October 13.
The Halal Guys
News about the iconic NYC staple food cart coming here to the Philippines spread like wildfire around November last year when their “Cooking Soon” sign was seen in one of the spaces at the SM Mega Fashion Food Hall. And in June, they finally settled our minds with a July opening date. But yet again, we were requested to wait further, until 2 weeks ago. So now, we are excited to finally be able to say that…
THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER! Mark your calendars, The Halal Guys open on
OCTOBER 13, 2015
The Booky Team is one of the lucky ones to have been invited to their private pre-launch event and we’re sharing the experience with you.

For anyone who has been to the city that never sleeps would agree that a trip to the 53rd and 6th, where the original The Halal Guy food cart is, is very much a part of a complete New York experience as going to the Statue of Liberty. It immensely represents the busy, fast-paced and vibrant soul of city.

Thanks to Mr. Jaime Daez, owner of Fully Booked, Manila will get to enjoy a glimpse of that New York experience. While we won’t exactly get the same outdoor takeout feel for now, we still get to satisfy our palates and bellies with the same wildly popular “New York Size It” platters and thick wraps.
Simple and straightforward, The Halal Guys serves 3 main offerings–gyro, chicken and falafel, which can either be on rice or wrapped in a sandwich.
We got to try the:
(1) New York Size It chicken and gyro combo over rice (bestseller)
(2) Gyro sandwich, and
(3) Falafel sandwich,
–all topped and drizzled with their famous White and Red (super hot) sauce.
We recommend the chicken and gyro combo platter. Super heavy eaters may want to challenge themselves with the New York Size It but regular solo eaters can settle for small, which is already filling enough. The falafel is probably not for everyone, it may require a bit of an acquired taste for others.
Here’s an insider tip: Go heavy on the white sauce and easy on the red one. Trust us on this one. P.S. We were told that a 24/7 branch at an undisclosed location is in the plan.
UPDATE: The Halal Guys Bonifacio High Street (beside Fully Booked)
