Who knew pizza heaven was a place on earth?
Deli de San Honore – Purok 138
This hidden gem in Tagaytay is a bakery/restaurant owned by husband and wife Jeremy and Kate Joson. It’s been operational for a little bit over two years now and is considered a favorite stop for residents in the area.
Fun fact: Deli de San Honore translates to "store of St. Honore," the patron saint of bakers.
It’s a quiet garden-style restaurant that comfortably seats up to 18 people at a time. They serve international dishes, weekend special plates, and homemade breads.
They even sell imported teas!
Chef Jeremy is an alumnus of the HRM program of the University of Santo Tomas. He also worked as a baker at a Filipino-owned bakery in New Jersey and had formal schooling at the International Culinary Academy in New York.
He and his then girlfriend-turned-wife Kate met in the US and decided to come home, get married, and start their own restaurant business. They started small by accepting tray orders from their Quezon City home and now operates Deli de San Honore on top of their usual catering services.
Insider tip: Customers can bring their own bottle of wine.
The restaurant actually started as a bakery offering Chef Jeremy’s special country and sourdough breads. Due to high demand from their usual customers, Deli de San Honore eventually transformed to a full-blown restaurant offering hot plates, coffee, and desserts.
Fact: The owner shares that this restaurant was among the unfortunate establishments that was hit by Typhoon Glenda back in 2014 which resulted to a temporary shutdown of the restaurant. They reopened a few months later and has fully recovered from the massive damages.
Deli de San Honore serves a beautiful menu of comfort food specialties like their Herb de Provence Pork Chop, D Deli’s Pizza, and the Stuffed Chicken Breast. They also have exclusive weekend specials and the occasional set menus for the holidays. Here are a few photos of their bestsellers.
