Corned Beef Hash

This recipe is perfect if you want to maximize your cans of corned beef, because after you make the corned beef hash, you can basically eat it with anything. Top it over rice or use it as pandesal filling!

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. of corned beef
  • 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 medium potato, chopped into cubes
  • 1 cup of rice
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • tomatoes (optional)
  • egg (optional)

What to do:

1. In a pan on medium-low heat, sauté your chopped potatoes for 2 minutes; don’t forget to season with salt and pepper!

2. Add in your garlic and sauté. Add in your chopped onions.

3. Most exciting part: Add in your corned beef to the pan, break the pieces apart, and sauté for 2 minutes. If you enjoy crusty and crispy corned beef (as we all do), raise the heat to medium-high.

4. Top your corned beef hash over rice with an egg or slice a pandesal in half and fill it with the corned beef! Pro tip: If you have excess oil, you can use it to cook fried rice!

Corned Beef Grilled Cheese

If you’re trying to impress the people in your house, then you should definitely try the Corned Beef Grilled Cheese. It’s everything that you’d want in a sandwich—thick, juicy, meaty, cheesy, and lightly toasted with butter. After you’ve made this recipe, you can pat yourself on the back and be proud of what you’ve made!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of corned beef
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 tsp butter or margarine
  • cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • chili flakes (optional)

What to do:

1. Drain any liquid from your can of corned beef and place the corned beef in a bowl; season your corned beef with pepper and chili flakes. If you want your corned beef crispy, sauté in medium-high heat for 2 minutes.

2. Toast your slices of bread on a buttered pan and flip when it slightly browns. You can use margarine, too!

3. Top your corned beef on one slice of toasted bread; top with lots and lots of cheese; complete your sandwich with the remaining bread, then halve.

4. Enjoy!

Anything In The Pantry Pasta

In our previous article on 5 Dishes To Make From Ingredients In Your Pantry, we featured our “Anything In The Pantry Pasta.” We’re doing it again, because not only are the ingredients easy to find, the recipe is low-maintenance and doesn’t depend on exact measurements. Not to mention, it’s also a really great way to incorporate corned beef.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. of any pasta
  • 1 can of corned beef or tuna
  • salt & pepper
  • chopped white onion
  • garlic
  • 1/4 cup of oil
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • parsley (optional)
  • cheese (optional)
  • chili flakes (optional)

What to do:

1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water. Stir occasionally, until al dente (or however you like it, honestly). Strain the pasta when done!

2. In a pan over medium heat, cook garlic in 1/4 cup oil until garlic looks golden. Add your corned beef and break into pieces with your spatula. Don’t forget to season with salt and pepper.

3. Add pasta into the pan with cooked corned beef or tuna and combine.

3. Transfer your pasta onto a plate and sprinkle cheese on top.

Cheesy Corned Beef Pie

If you miss Jollibee’s Breakfast Pie, here’s an addictive alternative that only uses five main ingredients. It might not be anything similar to Jollibee’s recipe, but this one is just as comforting.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of corned beef
  • cheese
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 slices of bread
  • egg
  • cooking oil

What to do:

1. In a pot over medium heat, combine corned beef and onions. Turn off the heat when done.

2. Cut off the bread crust and start kneading your bread until it widens.

3. Place your corned beef on top of your bread and top with cheese. Complete the sandwich with the remaining bread.

4. Crimp the edges of the bread, so that the corned beef and cheese are secure inside the bread.

5. In a separate bowl, whisk two large eggs; dip both sides of your bread in the egg mixture.

6. Deep-fry the bread in oil until crisp and golden.

7. Enjoy!

Corned Beef Sinigang

Making Sinigang might sound intimidating, but it doesn’t take much to cook it at all. If you’re missing Manam or Sentro 1771, try your hand at this recipe and you might find a new go-to dish to cook even after the quarantine has ended!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of corned beef, preferably chunky
  • sinigang mix
  • onions
  • tomatoes
  • vegetables

What to do:

1. In a pot over medium heat, combine water, onion, tomatoes, and sinigang mix. Bring to a boil.

2. Add in your vegetables until tender. Pour in your sinigang mix and stir until dissolved.

3. Serve with rice!

Cheesy Cauliflower & Corned Beef Bake

When you come out of this quarantine, you will not only be stronger—you’ll be a fantastic cook. Believe us, anything that you bake in an oven will make you look professional (even if this recipe requires barely any effort).

Level: Wife material.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of corned beef
  • 1 1/2 to 2 heads of cauliflower florets
  • 1 cup of cheese (cheddar cheese, preferably, but any will do!)
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper, to taste

What to do:

1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and cook cauliflower until tender but firm to the bite, about 10 minutes. Drain.

3. Combine cheese, cream, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Arrange cauliflower in a casserole dish and cover with cheese mixture. Top with corned beef.

4. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is bubbly and golden brown, about 25 minutes.

7. Serve (with more cheese)!

Corned Beef and Kalabasa Nuggets

You might want to reevaluate your career choices, because this recipe is EZ. Not only are they delicious, but these nuggets are pretty nostalgic. Take a bite of these bad boys and you’ll be sucked into a vivid memory of 7-year-old you in your school uniform, happily eating your merienda. Here’s the modified recipe from Panlasang Pinoy.

Level: EZ

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of corned beef
  • 2 cups kalabasa
  • 1 egg
  • 2 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs for coating
  • cooking oil

What to do:

1. Using a cheese grater or food processor, grate or grind the kalabasa.

2. In a bowl, combine the grated kalabasa and corned beef in a bowl. Mix the ingredients together.

3. Add the chopped garlic, pepper, salt, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until the ingredients are well-incorporated.

4. Heat up the cooking oil in a pot or pan.

3. For this step, you can use your hands, a spoon, or an ice cream scooper! Scoop around 2 tablespoons of mixture and mold it into nuggets. Dredge in breadcrumbs.

4. Dunk your nuggets into the oil and fry one side until golden brown.

5. Pat your nuggets dry to remove excess oil. Transfer and serve with your choice of dipping sauce!

Sizzling Corned Beef

We know you miss the taste of sisig and beer, but prepare to bring this to your next e-numan: the Sizzling Corned Beef. The only thing that’s hard about this dish is the oil about to splatter on you—so be careful!

Level: Yung mahirap lang dito ang masaktan (sa talsik ng mantika).

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of corned beef
  • 2 tbsp white flour
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • 1 Knorr beef cube
  • drops of Knorr seasoning
  • soy sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced

What to do:

1. In a pan on medium-high heat, cook your corned beef. Add in your sliced onions and sauté.

2. In a separate pan on medium-low heat, make your roux or sauce by melting 1 tablespoon of butter. Add in the plain white flour until it browns.

3. Add the beef cube and a few drops of Knorr seasoning into the sauce. Once it’s well-combined, pour the roux on top of your corned beef. P.S. You can also add mushrooms!

4. Enjoy!
