Durian coffee, anyone?
After news dropped about Zubuchon opening in Makati, here comes more news: a famous Davao brand coming to Manila.
Blugré Coffee
Founded in 1998, Blugré was established by husband and wife Gatchi and Larcy Gatchalian to introduce coffee culture in Davao. It is a homegrown specialty coffee shop from Davao known for its generous use of durian, a celebrated (and pungent) fruit in the region, in its drinks and food items. They currently have six shops in Davao and one each in General Santos, Tagum, and Marbel.
Fun Fact: The name "durian" is derived from the Malay-Indonesian languages word for duri or "spike".
Blugre is opening its first branch in the city of Manila, inside the Malacanang compound, on February 8th.
This will be its 10th branch.
We should all be looking out for their bestselling Blugre Durian Cappuccino (iced or hot), Durian Dulce de Leche Cheesecake and their equally famous (non-durian) Chocolate Torte with Cream Sauce.
Aside from these popular items, Bluegré also serves rice meals, pasta and sandwiches. You should also try the DuterTea.
Fun Fact: Manny Pacquiao, with wife Jinkee, is Gensan's master franchisee.
Last September, Blugré President and CEO, Gloria Cuaresma, mentioned they’d be opening subsequent stores in Makati and BGC, prospectively.
Opening soon!
