From the name alone, Batala Bar already suggests a world of heritage in the concept. With Bathala being an all-mighty deity in our culture, they dropped the “h” and turned Batala into a house of Filipino spirits.
Behind it’s impressive (and seriously heavy) pure bamboo door, opens up a stairway to Filipino heaven: a hybrid of a gallery, restaurant, and bar serving only locally sourced goods – everything from food and drinks to bicycles, handmade furniture, plushies, and accessories from different homegrown brands.
Not only do they promote Filipino craftsmanship in every corner of their space, but they also live through sustainability – with solar-powered energy and an in-house hydroponic urban garden. Their interiors accent this as well: an industrial aesthetic runs the whole place with different bamboo pieces, designed by architect Mia Guerrero.

Harboring a sense of unity, they hold parties, cater to events, and throw the occasional quiz night. Considering themselves a “third space” (a place where you can work, feel at home, and gather with loved ones), check into this self-proclaimed contemporary community center.
Featuring pika-pika, bar chow, and different meals cooked the Filipino style, Bathala Bar also serves vegan options that are absolutely good enough to go unnoticed by carnivores – making the better choices easier to choose.
