Bao On The Block – South Triangle

“It’s Bao or Never.” Emblazoned on the wall in bold, it’s undeniably the first thing you see when you enter and sets the expectations when you enter their doors. Baos (steamed buns) have always been a Chinese staple, but you haven’t had them like this before.

Bao on the Block is a trendy little restaurant located on Sgt. Eguerra just across ABS-CBN compound. They specialize in Asian steamed buns with a modern twist.

Aside from the fun and welcoming walls, the store also features a small gallery of polaroid photos of customers enjoying their signature baos.

Bao on the Block’s menu consists of their signature baos, rice bowls, dumplings, and other Chinese-inspired specialties. 

Baos

Their bao menu is as delicious as it is punny. All served with a side of chips, the baos come in five unique flavors and can be ordered in 1, 2, and 5 pcs.

Rice Bowls

Served with a side of chips, Bao on the Block’s rice bowls come with toppings such as Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Chop, Pork Hoisin, and Fish Wasabi.

Fish Wasabi

Fried rice / deep fried fish fillet / wasabi mayo / wanton chips / vegetables

Dumplings

They offer either beef or pork siomai, served in 4 or 8 pcs..

Dessert

The Deep Fried Ice Cream Bao, their only dessert offering, offers a sweet twist to their usual bao. Golden, deep fried, and crispy baos sandwiching two scoops of ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. P.S. It’s only P99!
