Ahi Hawaii – Now closed

“Home of Manila’s #1 Poké Bowl”

Poké /pou’kei/, which means “to slice or cut”, is a popular Hawaiian appetizer made from raw fish (usually salmon or ahi tuna), vegetables, and rice. You can even add toppings like edamame, avocado, and tobiko or fish roe, then top it off with some soy sauce to taste. It’s basically sushi bowls on steroids and people in the US are obsessed over healthy fast food.

Along the busy Maginhawa Street is a hip and bright little Hawaiian-inspired joint serving healthy to-go meals. The small takeout counter, bar area with stools, the surf board and hanging signboards instantly takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Manila and transports you to a beach side stall on a tropical beach in Waikiki.

Their menu, though small, is specialized and remains true to their concept. They serve 3 kinds of Poké bowls: AHI has salmon and tuna as main toppings; KOBE has tuna and tamago; and HUA has crabstick and tamago.
