Bistro Remedios, formerly known as ‘Ang Bistro sa Remedios’, opened in 1984 in a mid-1920’s ilustrado home. Bistro Remedios serves authentic Kapampangan cuisine and specialties like sisig, crispy tadyang, camaru (mole crickets), lechon kawali and sinigang sa bayabas. It is a sister restaurant of LJC group’s pioneer bistro, Cafe Adriatico. It’s great for family occasions and the ballikbayans. It’s not for people who live far from Manila and are unfamiliar with the Malate area. We recommend the Sinuteng Baby Pusit, Crispy Tadyang, Bamboo Rice and Sikreto ni Maria Clara. Moonshine Public Urban Bar is a late night pub with serving international food and a unique selection of cocktails. It’s for yuppies looking for a chill place to unwind after work. It’s not for families looking for a quiet, sit-down lunch with the kids. We recommend their Lamb Chop Caldereta, Truffle Mac and Cheese, and Beef Salpicao. Our insider tip: You won’t notice it at first, but Moonshine’s cocktails are made extra-strong.

Abe – Various branches
Abé is a family restaurant serving Filipino dishes in huge servings, inspired mostly by Kapampangan cuisine. It’s for families looking to give their balikbayan relatives and friends an authentic taste of Filipino dining. It’s not for your typical barkada night out. We recommend their Sinigang na Ube, Klassik Kare Kare, and Binukadkad na Pla Pla. Our insider tip: Their gourmet Filipino dishes also have a unique touch, as they’re inspired by Abe’s travels around the world. Abe is an artist-writer, a gourmet and bon vivant.
Sariwon – Greenhills, BGC
Sariwon is a Korean franchise famous for its Legendary Bulgogi and Galbi or barbecued beef short ribs. It’s for friends or families looking for a great place to do some group dining. It’s not for solo eaters looking for a place to have a working lunch. We recommend their Haemul Pajeon and the Sariwon Bulgogi. Our insider tip: They have a complimentary drink at the end of your meal. Fun fact: It has been awarded “The Best Korean Restaurant” by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Lorenzo’s Way – Greenbelt, BGC
Lorenzo’s Way is a homey family restaurant serving traditional Filipino and Spanish specialties. It’s for big groups who want an international twist on classic local dishes, especially those looking to show off Filipino cuisine to their foreign or balikbayan friends/relatives. It’s not for diners looking for typical Western bar chow. We recommend the Beef Caldereta, Callos and Paella. Our insider tip: Their servings are huge, so it’s best to dine here with a group.
59C – Makati
59C is a co-working space-slash-restaurant-cafe, and it’s the brainchild of the same people behind Good Earth Roasts in BGC. It specializes in Asian cuisine but they also serve coffee and cocktails. It’s for solo diners or small groups looking for a great place to have a working lunch with steady wifi. It’s not for huge groups who want a loud night out. We recommend the Maling Chips, Bacon Wrapped Siomai, Frynaneese Chicken, and Braised Beef 59C Asian Goreng. Ogawa is the newest venture from restaurateur George Pua (of K-Pub, Modern China, and Tony Roma’s Philippines) with the Chef Kiyoshi Ogawa, formerly from Senju of EDSA Shangri-la Hotel. It offers a unique and authentic Japanese dining experience in an intimate and well-designed space that transports customers to old town Japan. It’s for foodies looking for quality Japanese sushi fare and dishes. It’s not for people who prefer affordability over ambiance. We recommend their sashimi selections, Dragon Roll sushi, Wagyu Rib-Eye Kagoshima A5. But really, you can just go for their value-for-money Teppan Gozen set menu.
